This worksheet will help your students understand the difference in pronunciation. Transcriptions are included and at the end of each part, they will have to practise pronouncing the heteronyms.

40 Homographs. Each homograph is writen in a sentence which a sound guide in red beneath the 2 homographs. As I'm Australia a word like 'matter' would be 'm-at-tah' for me but I still put 'm-at-ter'. Its up to you if you change this.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets
