Underground home

A lesson that explores kids being left home all alone while their family go away on an overseas holiday not realising their mistake to long after they have boarded the flight.  Using the film Home Alone based on this situation I show my students a clip  and then get them to discuss ideas about what they do and feel.  This particular worksheet is adapted for Young Learners but it can easily adapted to any writing class.

This is the same worksheet as ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS just I have modified it in order to practice rooms and actions at home. There is one empty line and students should write the same sentence again in order to practice. Of course you can modify this worksheet according to your needs. Happy teaching!

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
