Homophones 

The words are given in a box. Ss have to use them in the pairs of sentences. A more difficult alternative would be to cut out the box with the words. The Key is provided at the bottom of the page.

Excercise on words with 2 meanings

Wordsearch is a type of exercises that stimulates the students intelligence and to make it more challenging the words you have to find are homophones. Also I added two exercises that will help you memorize the meaning of each homophone and when to use it.

Practice using words that are pronounced the same, but spelled differently and have different meanings. These are some of the more frequently used that they will hear in everyday conversation.

40 Homographs. Each homograph is writen in a sentence which a sound guide in red beneath the 2 homographs. As I'm Australia a word like 'matter' would be 'm-at-tah' for me but I still put 'm-at-ter'. Its up to you if you change this.

Back by popular demand! A short worksheet about words that have more than one meaning. Answers are on the back. The vocabulary box at the top of the page can be covered up for those with a B2 level or above. And yes, I know "murder" as in a flock of crows, isn´t exactly a common word. It is, however, a fun word, with loads of potential for puns. 

One Word, Two Meanings: 2

A song by Gnash, despite the rather crude sounding language, my students are very keen to sing this song. They love its pace and the rhythm of the song. The song helps to build on students' listening skills. With some homophones in place, this  has really helped build my students' language.
