This resource strengthens skills with irregular verbs and planning a speech. The lesson begins with a listening activity and model for the finished speech. Then, it leads into prompts for the speech. The assignment ends with a rubric for teacher and/or student evaluation.

Like any resource, this resource is only a tool in the hands of a capable teacher. Feel free to adapt it to the needs of individual classes and students. Also, make my day and drop me a note about how you will use it.

Some simple tasks to practise 'like' and other verbs which require the gerund structure after them.



Students have to fill in the gaps with the verbs after they look at the symbols. Then they write how they feel about doing this or that thing. And after that, they should write the missing information about their friend.

Creative Writing - Helping A Friend

Prepare a lesson about actual topics; for example, what is going on in the world right now. Let your pupils brainstorm and let them express their feelings. An idea: give them some time to prepare a presentation -> what news topics are they interested in-> do they read the newspaper? if yes, what takes their attention.
