I spy with my little eye

One of my favorite games is "I spy with my little eye". My students learn so many new words playing this game that sometimes it seems for me that is the best way to improve someone's vocabulary. 

This sheet is full of entertaining pictures. The teacher says the name of a picture and the students search for it. It is a great vocabulary builder and help with focus and attention to details.

I Spy With My Little Eye

The pupils have a picture of a house. Pupil A decides on an object and uses the line "I spy with my little eye a thing beginning with the letter ...". Pupil B has to guess. If pupil B guesses correctly, he choses a new object. If pupil B answers incorrectly, pupil A have to give B another letter. A keeps on spelling letters until B guesses correctly

An anecdote about a girl who is frightened of spiders and comes face to face with one. There is a true or false exercise and some comprehension questions. The title is a famous game and a play on words 'I spy a spider'. Key included.

To revise or practise language about house, rooms, furniture, prepsitions of place, toys....You can add listen activity to colour the picture. My students like playing at "I spy: I spy with my little eyes..something starts with..." it's useful to improve speaking skills and pronunciation, enjoy it!

This game can be used to practice vocabulary on "TOYS" topic, it is also good to play the "I spy with my little eye" game, if not laminated give the task to circle the animal you name - "hunt" for animals is a fun.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
