Bring six students to the front of the classroom, and give them one card to each of them. They can't show them until the teacher says so. The teacher tells them to show them, and after a few seconds (7-8, I'd say), hide them again. Take one of them and ask: "Whose is this X?". The student has to answer with the genitive: "It's John's". If you show and drill the structures a couple of minutes before you start the game, it works wonders. Again, a small prize (a sweet, for example) is quite an incentive. It worked really well

Whose Game

Examples for the infinitive/present, past simple and past continuous of the 100 most common (in my opinion) irregular verbs. They have gaps for the verb forms which the students must fill in (the gaps are deliberately small so that they actually have to write their own irregular verb list on another sheet), but it is not too difficult because they are in alphabetical order. It can be done little by little in class with the teacher's help over several days, or as homework, also bit by bit.

It is a nice activity to revise different things, for example: numbers and colours. In activity 1 the students count and write the correct number, then they color the classroom objects with the color that is mentioned in the worksheet. In the second activity they have a True or False related to the previous activity. Enjoy it!!
