I made this ESL worksheet to practice the causative. This is a classic game where students bet with play money on whether sentences are grammatical or not. They can decide how much to bet in each round. Game is to multiply their original capital of 100 dollars. Great game, tried it today, it gets adults engaged just as much as teens.

A 5 Minute Activity #22

Students use verb tenses, adjectives and adverbs as well, but the focus of the activity is to use the vocabulary related to traveling in context. The context is provided by the paragraphs in the form of a narrative. It is a vocabulary and grammar task both at the same time. The test can be adapted to suit the needs of the students. For example, weaker learners can look for the present and past forms of the verbs before doing the reading task. The lead-in part of the lesson involves a short input data about what Hawaii is and where it is. It can also include a short video of the place. This way, the students will be more prepared for the task.  They should use them in the correct tense.
