0. I introduce the topic progressively showing the image on the notes sheet. I engage students to explain the photo, saying that this is a stereotype ("Yes, in Australia there are kangaroos, BUT..."); 



1. I split students in small groups, and they work on different topics; 



2. on the second lesson, after I've marked their work, they 1) get some sentences ready and 2) present their work to the class, who takes notes.



During the presentation, as the class is taking notes, I tend to ask only one person to speak per group, one to write difficult words on demand, and a third one to check the information being given.



Australian stereotypes debunked (Reading comprehension)

This quiz meant to give students some practice around how-to-text (procedure), jobs and animals. Students practice to fill the gaps with appropriate nouns and verbs. The picture of kangaroo will have to be colored. This quiz is suitable for A1 and A2 level. Hope it can be useful.

The video that I chose is easy to understand, it is fun way to learn a new vocabulary for general knowledge.

When? I will use this activity as an introduction to the new topic - "The Kangaroo's Pocket”.



First activity: Pre viewing- 

Before watching the video clip, the pupils will need to match the English word to the Hebrew translation by drawing a line between the two.

Second activity: While viewing-

Before watching the video clip, the teacher will read and explain the questions, while watching  the video  the students will need to answer the four true/ false questions.

Third activity: post-viewing-

After the pupils finish watching the video clip, they will need to correct the false questions from exercise B.   The teacher will check the answers from exercise B before the pupils start exercise C. 

The last activity is to answer one question and the pupils will need to draw a picture according to the instruction and the video.
