ABC match and label

An exercise to evaluate students' reading and understanding the use of silent letters in English word formations.  Some of the words used in this exercise are in gibberish, and have no meaning in English; they are used here only for the purpose of sounding in-line with the correct words.  This also checks the students' spelling abilities, and their accuracy in reading.  Mostly, this exercise comes to ensure the students' familiarity with silent letters in the English language, AFTER they have already gone over the topic learned the vocabulary.

This worksheet is helping to improve students' listening skills and letter recognition abilities. Children have to carefully listen to the teacher and circle the correct beginning sound.

Find the correct beginning sound

It´s an interesting, amazing, cool poster of the sound of the letters. The kids can read and listening to the sound os the letters and find on the poster. It´s a funny game.

With these worksheet, you can help students make the connections between uppercase and lowercase forms of letters, and let students make the associations with the phonetic sounds for each letter. Students can learn the phonetic sounds that fit with each letter and practice the correct writing order while developing hand-eye coordination. Students will get to practice both writing the letter in the context of a word and by itself, making this a great review activity for both phonics and forming the letters of the alphabet.
