A selection of English ESL liars printables

Students work in small groups. They must take turns to complete the stem sentences correctly. Some of the sentences must be true and some lies. The other students must mark on their sheet if they think the sentences are true or false. Then during feedback students must practise asking questions to confirm whether the statements were lies or not.

Liar! Game

This activity is a game that can be played in groups to practise present perfect tense and past tenses. Each student is asked a question "Have you ever..?" and has to reply: "Yes, I have". If it is a lie, he must quickly make up a story backing up his statement and answer the questions of other students (when, why, how many times..). Then the students guess, it the story is true or not.
