A selection of English ESL lucky printables

Word search is based on a story created by and used by my school. However, word searches are great in that they don't have to be words a student knows since it is more about recognizing the patterns and order of letters. 



The students who do these are usually able to have basic conversation entirely in English. They are also around 9-10 years old. 



I use this as filler to give students something a bit more 'fun' and still useful as it helps them recognize words.

This is a simple activity using the song Lucky by Britney Spears. The teacher can work the Simple Present.

Show to the students the video clip about the song (on youtube you can find it). There is a simple exercise where they can pass the verbs to third person; and also another questions where they can find sentences in simple present, verbs and the students can make their own sentences.

An activity in which students must guess what traditional beliefs in various countries say you should or shouldn't do, if you want to preserve your good luck. Instead of guessing, it could also be given as a research activity, with students using the internet or other resources to find out what the beliefs are. Hope it's useful for your class!

Passive ESL worksheet about the unlucky Olympians. Ss have to come up with passive sentences based on the pictures, and say what happened to each unlucky athlete. It also teaches that there are some verbs (e.g. fall, rip, lose, break, etc.) that stay in the active when they mean that something happened by itself: Eg. "The baseball bat broke. Nobody broke it, the wood was just too weak." As a follow-up, students can draw more unlucky athletes with stick figures.
