I love doing songs with my 7-9 years olds that may seem a bit complex but have lots of recognisable vocab.

This one incorporates some simple sums! Which can then be used to practice writing numbers by filling in the relevant gaps in the song.

Wonderful christmas magic

A listening activity . Students write the words from the box on the blanks as they listen. They can also have lots of fun singing along. It can be used from Pre-intermediate to Advanced levels.

Kiss me - MAGIC!

This activity was developed to review conditional sentences and work on listening skills. It is a filling the blanks activity. First, students listen to the song and complete activity number. Then they listen one more time to check it. The same process will be done in activity 2, 3 and 4.

This is a reading comprehension about the special significance of some numbers. They have to read the passage, then compete the T/F questions, answer the comprehension questions and then, yes, they have to do three sums! I hope this will provoke their interest. It is amazing about the number nine! Did anybody realise that? All its multiples add up to nine! How can that be? Key provided.

This tale was written to highlight the belief that the Bajau community had on Ambun. Ambun is a supernatural entity that was usually summoned during a traditional ritual by shamans in order to heal people who have been cursed or inflicted with supernatural illnesses. Ambun was believed to be female that could “cool down” the effects of an illness even if it could not cure it. This material contains several questions. The story was written by Sirhajwan Idek.
