12 marathon questions about thanksgiving, you can use this material to explain your students the history of thanksgivings and its meaning.

Even if you don't know your students this well, there is a slight chance that once you've run through this speaking marathon, you will. The activity consists of two lenghty sets (35 questions in each) - a mixed bag plus some elements of grammar/vocabulary revision. This exercise aims at challenging your students' reflexes regardless of the subject  currently being covered during the classes. Good fun might be an added bonus :) Enjoy!

Inside out? - speaking marathon

This one can be good fun both for students and teachers with two major skills at play: vocabulary and speaking. I have not attached the key on purpose - I suppose you will enjoy refreshing your knowledge of phrasals (as you see, it's a random selection of them, but I've picked the most 'learnable' ones) . How to conduct the activity without any 'bumps' along the way? Just ask the students to read out each question (or do it yourself), explain the meaning (possibly in English) and then repeat a specific question and expect some concrete answer from a chosen student. :) For this marathon you will need to have the luxury of at least 60 minutes at your disposal, but I think it's worth it!

Phrasal verbs - speaking marathon

A speaking marathon with two sets of 30 questions on a variety of issues. Good for any stand-in lesson or a 'freestyle' discussion class since as you see it's a whole bag of unrelated topics. You can also select whatever's relevant and just relish a lively conversation. 

Like a house on fire...? - speaking marathon

A conversational activity which is in fact a mixture of simple prompts that will hopefully spark a nice exchange whenever you have some extra time left or simply want to integrate your students or get to know them better. Easy, smooth and can be inspirational. Good luck! :)
