A selection of English ESL match up printables

There are 44 sets of opposite adjectives in the file. Students can match the cards in the beginning and after that they can try to do it alone or as a group in a set time time. Once they are comfortable with the words they can open up one set and try to say outloud the pair of the word. For each set they can make example sentences as well.

Here is a handout in which students have to match the expressions with the corresponding picture. You might use this worksheet to introduce the topic of marriage. I hope you find it useful.

They read the story and complete the exercises: a match-up, true or false and write in the past simple stem. This can lead to a discussion about superstitions: do you belive that things can be lucky or unlucky?

This worksheet introduces students to some idioms that might be use din politics. Students will have to match the idioms with the right meaning and then will have to answer some questions base don a very short text. It can be done in pairs.
