At the Doctor's (1) vocabulary

This worksheet is based on a TEDx Talk video. Janine Shepherd, a cross-country skier who hoped for an Olympic medal until she was hit by a truck, shares a powerful story about the human potential for recovery. Before watching the video the students do a vocabulary matching exercise. Then they watch the video and do a True/False exercise. Answer Key provided.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
