A vocabulary worksheet to learn about various metals. Students have to match words and pictures. All pictures were taken from the Internet. It is an introductory exercise to other worksheet such as finding definitions or writing or reading. Ideal for students learning metal work or plumbing.

This is a quiz i created for a student group after studying materials and their basic properties. Key vocabulary was:

materials: clay, metal, paper, plastic, rubber, wood, glass, wax, fabric, leather
properties of materials (how they feel when touched & what they look like)

Materials quiz - metals, wood, wax, plastic, etc. + magnets & compass

Role play for esl students to improve their speaking skills. Role play as a team. Role play dialogue. Students can add additional material, It is best that they memorize the lines, after practicing the role play. Real life situations for esl students. 4 on a team work. I used these in freshmen classes at a Korean University. Practice , then perform at the from of the class. We used boarding cards, suitcases, x ray machine from a cardboard box, wand to check for metal. I hope it helps your students. The role play has been practiced for marks (points) by Korean University students. They really enjoyed it.

At the Airport

There are 16 cards about 16 types of recyclable materials ( facts and how to recycle/use them well): paper, plastic bottle, glass, metal, furniture, tire, ink cartridge, battery, mobile phone, computer, electrical equipment, refrigerant gases, compost, light bulb, computer and even about recycling bins. It is a grammar question but you can devise your own follow-up activities based on the information in each of the cards. These are also available in ESL printables. Developed by Sirhajwan Idek
