This is a test I used at the end of this term, in order to evaluate my 6th graders. It is made of eight exercises, one of them being a listening one. Students must fill in the blanks, choose the correct option or match. I hope it will be useful for some of you!

Ka-ching! 

This is a fun ESL listening activity using the song 'Ka-ching!' by Shania Twain. The song is broken up into different listening tasks, including gap-fills and sentence ordering. There is also a short post-listening activity to provide comprehension practice which could be extended into a discussion on consumerism. This ESL worksheet can be used as a stand-alone activity or as a supplement to a lesson on shopping or money. Answers are included.

This text is meant to get students to talk about freeganism and food waste. You can use it with high-intermediate and advanced students to talk about saving money, environmental issues, social issues and so on.

Listening and speaking. This worksheet helps students to develop listening comprehension. It includes vocabulary focus, listening for details, gap-filling and multiple choice assignments based on the short videos. The tasks introduce the vocabulary of economics and finance. The students will learn about the principles of issuing and managing  money. Students also practice speaking and share their views on the changes brought by digital currencies. The worksheet can be used in General English class, but it is more suited for English for Finance/Economics or  Business English course. The tasks can be used for independent studies or distance-learning classes.

Select two speakers, one green and the other violet. They throw a dice first and then speak the line that corresponds with the number. The speakers move through the list alphabetically. After they finish, another couple start. When everyone has finished, compare how different the conversation was in content but how similar in context. Different numbers should be used for different pairs

Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
