The worksheet focuses on use articles with geographical names. The students discover the rules of the article use watching the video about natural wonders of the world. Students focus on the rules and examples of the article use in the names of countries, seas, oceans, and less ‘common’ cases like names of canyons, bays and waterfalls.  There are exercises for further practice: use of articles and speaking. The tasks can be used for independent studies or distance-learning classes.

A demonym is the noun or adjective you use to describe a person from a particular place (e.g., America's demonym is American).



These can be difficult for native speakers, let alone ESL learners, so I made this worksheet to test my students' knowledge on some of the more commonly heard demonyms. There is an answer key included.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
