This reading comprehension worksheet focuses on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT), exploring their origins, characters, and cultural impact since their debut in 1984. Students will read about how these iconic characters were created, their adventures, and their influence on pop culture. 


Questions accompanying the text will test students' understanding of the material, covering topics such as the creators of TMNT, character traits, and the franchise's expansion into various media. For additional vocabulary support, students are encouraged to scan the QR code provided, which links to definitions and context for key terms used in the text.

Reading Activity: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Heroes in a Half Shell

This is a reading. listening and writing worksheet, which includes communicative activities and so can involve speaking too. It's based on the popular Christmas song 'Fairytale of New York'. They first listen to the song and try to identify the mood, there is a list of moods given for students to choose from. Then they read part of a newspaper article and do reading comprehension and skills activities and there is a focus on some language aspects like phrasal verbs and prefixes also. They then listen to the song again and identify different verses as they listen (e.g. say which verse is about being in a bar, fond memories, bad memories etc.) They'll probably need to listen a couple of times and discuss with each other. The lyrics are included on a separate handout for them  to check their answers. The writing activity is based on the phrasal verbs from the article, Ss are asked to write a story using them.

This is a recipe worksheet where students vocabulary associated with baking and skim read to find ingredients. There is a dialogue suggestion box.

Banana Bread Recipe

Video lesson on social media with a variety of listening activities - gap fill, comprehension Qs, True or False and write the number. I stop at the end of each activity to break it up for the students if it's a weaker class or they have difficulty. Good for practising listening to large numbers (hundreds of thousands, millions etc.) In the final activity the numbers are given very fast so it would be a good idea to put students in small groups or in smaller classes assign just 2 numbers to each student.
