A selection of English ESL placement printables

This is part two of my previous ws in today´s new contributions category. It is slightly more difficult than part 1. There are TWO practice exercises. Although the first is relatively simple, the second requires that students use picture prompts to write original sentences using adverbs of frequency. Teachers should mark for sentence structure and for the correct usage and placement of the adverbs in each sentence.

This worksheet is good for grammar review. It includes mixed tenses, conditionals and modals. Teacher can use each example to review grammar rules and explain once more why the certain tense or conditional is used. It can be used as test preparation or as placement test. Key is included.

Adverbs of Manner Practice 3

The process is a little difficult to explain, but this is a good  way for students to form present simple questions about the third person. I also use this as a way of presenting typical English names. There are instructions for play on the side of the sheet, but it's a good idea to print off an extra sheet to use as an example of ship placement.

A1 4 Page Past Simple Test with KEY

Print, glue the back of the cards, cut and put on the table, organizing in rows. The student turns 2 cards. If they match, s/he keeps the cards and plays again. If they don't, s/he puts the cards back.

It's a mixed grammar test. Could be used as a placement or reinforcement material at the end ot the term or after holidays. It's meant for pre-intermediate (/intermediate) students.
