At the beach: present continuous (elementary)

This is an easy reading comprehension activity with a revision of the present continuous tense (referred to actions in progress as well as actions in the future). Students read a short passage, complete the text below with the present continuous, do a true and false exercise and, finally, answer the questions.

A great beach picture to cheer us up in this miserable weather (in England anyway) and my friend on holiday in Rome says it's stormy:(. They have to decide which tense and they circle the correct choice. There is also a T/F .

What are the animals doing on the beach?

The students look at the picture and say what the people are doing using present continuous. You can, of course, use it with any other tense if you change the directions.
