PRESENT SIMPLE & CONTINUOUS

They decide which picture the sentences are about, A, B or A and B. They read the sentences and then write the correct letter on the red line. The sheet gives some basic reading practice. There is/are and the present continuous tense.

There are 2 parts, 5 opened sentences and 30 fill in the blank sentences in which the verb to transform into the correct tense is given. 

Ask the students to pay attention to the clue words that determine the tense. 

Mixed Tenses 

Students look at the image and describe it by writing what the people in the park are doing. Usually I first show the image and ask them to tell me orally what they're doing, after that they write the sentences down. 

What's happening?

A basic worksheet to practise the present continuous tense. The pupils suppy 'am' 'is' or 'are'; read the sentences and decide who they are describing. I then follow this up with leaving them with just the picture and seeing how many sentences they can write.

Is there really the need for another Christmas ws? Probably not, but I can't resist and I hope it will be of use! They put the verbs into the present continuous, or put in 'is' or 'are' and say which picture is being described.
