This lesson plan focuses on the present perfect with questions and responses using 'How long...?' The main  language on page one can be adapted to suit the level of student. Listen and repeat one, two or three mini-conversation exchanges or practice reading together. In the practice sections the question 'How long...?'  and responses using 'for,' and, 'since,' are put into play (you can build student confidence by having them apply the practice with the text covered). On page two there are two easy exercises and a quick listening section with some simple follow-up questions. Wrap it all up with a focused application on students own experiences. My students said the lesson was interesting and useful!

The time to write.

This is a simple recap chart on the passive voice for past, present, future tences and modal verbs, with a simple image of the basis of the passive voice.  Students of  all levels can learn the Passive Voice with the help of this chart.. Hope you find it useful.

A very simple yet effective worksheet.  The student writes and talks about himself or herself and then obtains, writes and shares personal information about another student or, in a one-to-one situation, about his or her teacher.  Uses the verb to be in the present tense.

It´s a game in which the task of the students is to ask at least 3 question about given topic. If, for instance, a student lands on a card - a ghost, he/she must ask their partners questions concerning this topic e.g., ´Have you ever seen a ghost? When did you see it? what did you do?' etc. If they can´t make such questions, they must go back 6 spaces.

Present Perfect - a boardgame

This is PART 2 of a typical snakes and ladders boardgame with vocabulary about daily routine, household chores and free time activities.

Students have to make a sentence with the vocabulary on the square they land on. I'm uploading the board in parts because of the size of the file. But you have to join the 4 boards and laminate altogether to form only one board.

If you want to make the game more challenging you will also find:

- a subject pronoun dice. Students have to make a sentence not only with the vocabulary provided but also with the pronoun they get.

- A dice that tells them whether they have to make an affirmative sentence, negative, yes/no question or information question.
