This conversation sheet is used to reinforce Simple Present Tense. It can be used two ways. The first is a general conversation that can be used for the whole class. The second and third pages of this sheet are used to reinforce third person. Questions are asked to each partner and the answer is written opposite the question. When the questions are finished the students have to report back in the third person what their partner has said. 

CLASSROOM CONVERSATION - SIMPLE PRESENT

This worksheet first acts as a grammar practice activity were learners have to fill in the caps with the correct form of the past tense. Once the passage is complete, it can be used as a reading comprehension.

Students are expected to apply the rules for using different future tenses. After reading the rules about the correct usage they are asked to fill in the gaps of the worksheet with WILL or BE GOING TO. The two forms that are most often used in English are WILL and BE GOING TO and students have to learn in which situations these two tenses are used. Particularly the form BE GOING TO has special difficulties. The students have to learn that the Simple Present, which is commonly used cannot be used in these situations.
