Reading text about a famous painting from Van Gogh, the Prisoners' Round. It's not really difficult in terms of vocabulary or the grammar, so I expect it to be a good read for pre-intermediate ad intermediate students. 



You can start your lesson with this, then you can move to my other creation "27 club". Thereafter, you can ask questions about artists' depression, suicide rates among artists. However, since these subject are sensitive, I strongly recommend you to get in these topics only if your student or students are not traumatized or not tend to self-harm.

In a certain village lived a farmer and his only son. The SON was a thief who goes about stealing from people’s homes. He continued this wicked lifestyle till the day his cup got filled. He stole heavy some of money from the richest man in their village, that day he didn’t escape successfully as he used to. The farmer involved the police immediately he found out that his money was missing and the police started investigating, and finally they found out that the boy stole the money so they sent him to prison.

A STORY ABOUT A FARMER AND HIS PRISONER SON

An exciting detective game for students to practice questions and some vocabulary related to crimes. 



I planned it so that two students (or more) went out the classroom and create an alibi for the night of the robbery. They know in advance the questions they are going to be asked which are in the worksheet (you can tell them there is a mole or infiltrator in the police station). 



In the meantime, the rest of the classroom are police agents, and they need to prepare the questions for the interrogation. They are going to question each suspect independently so the suspects can't be together while the interrogation is on. All the answers need to coincide, otherwise it will be discovered that they are lying. 



After the interrogation the police agents compare the answers of the suspects. If they coincide they are free, but if there is something different, they will go to "prison".



You can even make a kind of trial in the clasroom, so students can decide the best sentence for the robbers.
