Maths Problems in Words- Simple addition

A simple worksheet to practise vocabulary for common ailments e.g. "I have a headache." and advice for how to solve them e.g. "You should take some medicine." Students match the pictures to the phrases then can practise role playing expressing problems and offering advice using the phrases they have just learned.

Ailments and Health Problems & Advice

Students roll the dice, go ahead the corresponding number of squares, read the problem and suggest a solution using "should". I hope it's useful to practice or review the topic.

Be healthy

This is a fun exercise I use for my mid level students in China. The students have to work in groups to assign importance to a list of items they might find during a disaster situation, before justifying them to the class.

The Survival Kit

The worksheet consists of cards with problems that can have place at hotels. Student A has to call to Room Service (Student B) and make requests. Student B has to solve the problem. Then students swap roles.

Making Request at a Hotel

This worksheet has a set of maths problems where the problem is written in words. Reading comprehension skills are required to solve these easy maths problems. This set consists of minus (take away) sums.

Students fill in the dialogue then they may try to solve a problem that appears in the dialogue. This is an exercise to see if the students have learned the formation of the past tense in its irregular form.

Grammar Worksheet - Past Simple of Irregular Verbs

An old management lesson I remember doing in the distant past most likely there are a million other versions of this out on the net. I made this one to cover as many nations as I could and to discuss the topic of discrimination and different jobs.  Each person has an odd quirk which you can use to discuss how they can work together or why they can't.  Encourage the students to explain their choices. 

Once the students finish choosing their island castaways I like throwing problems at them for them to solve like: 'the engineer's wife has a baby where will the extra food come from?'. 'If any fights start how can they work together?' 

You can also have the students make a plan to escape the island.

I added myself as number 12 as a joke, feel free to change it.
