A lot of English learners have difficulty in differentiating L and R sounds, for example in the words 'lock' and 'rock'. I made these worksheets to help with teaching the different pronunciation of minimal pairs like this, and also to clarify the meaning. Students match the words to the pictures, then put the words into example sentences. Hope you find it useful.

Difficulties in pronunciation faced by Koreans especially. This is a long explanation that might be helpful to Korean speakers about the problems with English pronunciation.

Difficulties in Pronunciation in English Explanation

A role play gap fill activity with words containing sk/st consonant cluster sounds. You can practise the pronunciation of the individual words with the students first then get them to work out which words go in the gaps, and finally do the role play in pairs. Worked well with my students (native Thai speakers), who often have difficulties with pronouncing these sounds correctly. Hope you find it useful.

This phonetic worksheet is designed to help people practice the h sound correctly. Speakers of some languages might have difficulty pronouncing this sound correctly. It can be useful for learners of English of all levels who experience this difficulty. The idea is just to repeat the words until the correct pronunciation is obtained.

I made this specifically with my Japanese students in mind, but it can easily enough be adapted or changed.  This lists a few sounds that my students have difficulty with and talks about how to correctly say the sounds.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
