How much How many

A worksheet which contains a good deal of exercises about names of food, drinks and containers, the quantifiers "some" and "any", and "there is/are". There are a picture match activity, and three blank-filling activities. 

FOOD & DRINKS - SOME & ANY - THERE IS/ARE

First students learn how to distinguish between countable and uncountable nouns (followed by a small practice). Then some quantifiers are introduced - it includes some information on how to use these words and practice. Greyscale and key are provided.

QUANTIFIERS - countable/uncountable nouns

This is a useful lesson plan for beginners which practices language asking about food in the home. The short conversation introduces closed questions followed by quantity questions. In the practice sections students must identify whether a food is countable or uncountable and answer in both the positive and negative. The exercises reinforce the structures needed for question, positive and negative sentences. In the listening section students must listen to a short conversation about shopping and answer some simple questions. Finally, there is a communicative activity which will help build fluency and confidence.
