ABILITIES CAN AND CAN'T BOARDGAME

Tis is a game I use for revising the topic of home.

Here are two board games that can be used in small classes or you can use them for projection on the board. If you project them on the board, you can use a board marker to draw crosses (X) or noughts (0) and you can divide the class in two teams. If you print the boards you can use crosses (X) or noughts (0) made of cardboard, so you can reuse them. Have fun!

This worksheet includes three exercises. Students are expected to fill in the gaps in the text with suitable words, answer the questions to the text and mark statements T,F or NS. The topic is 'Clothes'.

The British police

This a passage where the students have to fill in the past simple or past continuous. In exercise B they find words/phrases from the text and write the names under the pictures. In the 3rd exercise, they mark the sentences true or false and finally they answer the questions. An answer key is included.

FUTURE SIMPLE BOARDGAME

A text intended to practice reading comprehension and the construction would + verb. It consists of a text, statements about the text for students to mark as true or false, vocabulary practice and writing practice based on the text and the questions given.

Question or Exclamation?

This is a game for intermediate students or above.It can be played with 6 or more students (Large classes - OK). Students mingle and ask questions like: Can you recommend famous sights in Rome? Do you know how much it costs to fly from London to Amsterdam? Can you recommend a hotel in Barcelona? Can you recommend a good restaurant in Paris? Students listen to the answers and write then down on their card. HINT: Expand and print the card onto B4 size paper before cutting them out as there will be more space to write the answers.
