SUPERSTITIONS

Fun quiz to supplement a lesson about ice cream. Students can guess fun facts related to ice cream and then learn the answers. The questions aren't really things that the students might know but rather things they might find fun to learn. Rather than read the list out you can let them guess!

Here is a quiz you may use on one of those days just before Christmas holiday . I works beter if you have previously   revised Christmas vocab and anglophone traditions with them.  



Specially useful for  1st Bachillerato classes, that is, level B1 onwards. 



Procedure: 

Divide the students in three  teams.They select a number from 1 to 27. They have one minute to answer. If the answer is correct they get 3 points. If it is incorrect there is a rebound and the next team answers for 2 points. If the answer is wrong there would be a new rebound for the third team, this time for just 1 point.

In this activity the students meet Zoe, a teenage girl showing us some holiday photos on her mobile phone. the students describe the photos by using the Past continuous tense. Then they speak about their favourite personal photos and write a description of one of them. They optionally can do a memory quiz on a YouTube video about Past Continuous.
