Students follow the link and read Poe's poem, The Raven. Alternatively, students can have the poem printed for them and listen to it or watch a video about it - preferably with subtitles.

Students have to look for synonyms and find sentences with similar meaning in the text. They also have to identify some personalities / references in the text.

It is most suitable around Halloween for advanced and adult students. 

Solution is included at the end of the worksheet.

Poe: The Raven

This is an Aesop's fable. They read it and complete the exercises. Then they can have an interesting discussion about what the moral of the tale might be. Full key included. 

The Raven and the Swan

Worksheet for young learners or children with learning problems. The students have to write the correct sentences in order under the pictures. Then, they have to write one more sentence for each picture.

The present continuous

This is a report from the Daily Mail about how a fox killed two of the famous ravens which guard the Tower of London. Exercises on page 2.

Cut into cards and have students draw a card.  Each student must draw their resolution on the board while the class guesses their resolution.  Before beginning this activity, review the future tense with students and discuss new year's resolutions and why they exist.
