The worksheet helps students to drill phrases of complaint and requests. The excercise consists of situational cards with prompts. It works best if practice the cards orally first.

In this making requests speaking activity, students practice making, accepting and declining requests using prompts on cards. 
Give each student a request card. 
Students then go around the class making, accepting and declining requests with as many different partners as possible.

making polite request is an important part of courtesy. Usually children are taught this manner since thier childhood. This worksheet will provide any classroom written material for practice. To enhance difficulty level five self formation questions are added.

Making a Polite Request

I set up this activity for my adults elementary students. It is a perfect way to let them practice making offers and request in freer speach. By looking at the card they decide wether it is an offer, a request or a permission and put in the gaps "Can I...?", "Could/Can you?", "Would you like?". One by one the s-s ask questions and give possible answers. Present the respons on the board so they could have a visual choice of negative and positive replies. Enjoy the activity!
