Sketch: Talking About Sports (part 2)

Students read a comedic sketch about a misunderstanding in a restaurant and write their own endings to the sketch. Adapted from A Bit of Fry and Laurie, a comedic group from England in the 1980s and 90s.

"The Witness and the Sketch Artist" activity is an immersive role-play designed to enhance ESL students' descriptive language skills. Participants assume the roles of witnesses and sketch artists, focusing on crime scenes to describe and sketch suspects based on memory and detailed observation. Create a short group sketch (3–5 minutes) that expresses a secret topic (a word like a color or emotion) without saying the word itself. Your audience will guess your topic based on your actions, dialogue, and tone.
