You can practise present simple, past simple and present continuous at the same time, to feel the difference. 
You have to create sentences what people do generally, did yesterday and doing at the moment.

Here are questions that your pupils can answer. They are very easy. You can divide the sts in groups and they can intercommunicate when answering the questions. Hope they enjoy it.

Some time ago I found here a very intresting game. 

Students (in close pairs first, then in an open classroom interaction) choose a random topic by pointing their pensil on the empty side of the paper. They turn the paper, check which topic they chose, and talk about it for a minute (their partner sets the timer). 



The difference with the activity which inspired me is that the topics have been selected for adults mostly. Also, topics can also be of interest to students outside of EU, namely Africa, Middle East and Asia. 



I work with people from African countries and these topics triggered their critical thinking.

Just take a pack of cards to class and get your students talking.

questions to get students talking. Either give the questions in pairs or divide the questions equally in pairs. Pre teach the vocabularies for low level learners and explain the terms like 'colour blind' etc. My learners enjoyed the task. Good luck

Students colour, complete the crosswords, read and colour, write more words they can see in the picture (to revise adjectives and general language about birthday party), enjoy it!

Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
