Task Card Preposition 5

Third Conditional Discovery Task. I created this task in order to try and help  students think about the grammar point rather than the teacher just giving them the answer, students should discuss the questions about the various sentences then create their own timeline. They will also need to analyse 1st and 2nd conditionals and answer the concept questions. There are also sentences for them to transform into the 2nd and 3rd conditional sentences can become confusing when compared with the 2nd conditional as the reference of time changes. So, it is important to help students understand and try to internalise the meaning of the 3rd conditional. Asking them to create their own timeline is a way for you as the teacher to monitor if they are actually understanding the reference of time. The answers have been provided. The sentence reformulation just helps to add some more consolidation for the students. I hope  you will find this worksheet useful and it makes it easier for to teach this grammar point.

On task/ refocus strategy

A pupil gets the worksheet with pictures (A and B). A teacher reads the transcript ( mini-dialogues and texts). The pupil has to choose the right variant, the right picture.

Listening task ( grade 3)

Task: Students need to find the correct colors. First read the sentences and then mark the correct picture. Repeat the names of all the colors in the pictures.

Task "Find the color"

Students solve this logical in order to find out who plays a round of basketball. They have o find out how tall each player is and what he wears. 

It can be used a cooler or warmer / introduction of revision.

Shooting Hoops - Logic Task

In this task students shoul to make their internet search to write tips "How to stop buying things you don’t need". The aims of this task are: to encourage students to improve their English by using the Internet; to get students to use their skills at their current level, developing language through its use.

I've made this one for a course I'm taking, so you should ignore the first page. Students are supposed to read the text and then conduct an interview about the subject. Feel completely free to change the task, though, I just didn't want to miss the opportunity of someone really using it!

Match the word with a picture. I used it to revise far  animals as the unit comes to end. Students have to match each word with different colour. There are 10 words, so they have to use 10 colours.

Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
