Third conditional explanation, writing and speaking practice.  Useful for Trinity GESE grade 8.

Fro further written practice with the third conditional. It might seem a bit hard at first but it works out fine if students really grasp the use of the third conditional. I advise teachers do some speaking drill on the topic after it´s presented and before this one is done.

THIRD CONDITIONAL

Practice writing the third conditional.  Useful for Trinity GESE grade 8.

Students practise using the third conditional. They should read a text, and then make sentences using the third conditional according to the text. 

The task can be assigned as homework. 

Third conditional

It's a two-page document with exercises on the third conditional. I have put the solutions for the second exercise so remember to fold back the bottom part of the sheet before handing it out to your students. Once they have finished the exercise, they can check if they were correct or not.

Stereotypes are related to self-image. Most of the time people prejudge other people by their appearance. In this lesson, I would like to show students that appearance does not define a person. We should stop stereotyping people.

10 sentences in the third conditional with 2 additional questions each(the questions relate to the statement and help determine whether or not the action in the statement actually took place and what was the consequence. Can be used to better understand the 3rd conditional.

Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
