JOBS VS TOOLS

The object of this lesson is to teach vocabulary for professions and the tools each person uses. The activities are fun and make students think. It includes riddles, a crossword and a debate question. I warmly recommend printing out pictures for the vocabulary items to make the exercises easier. 

Machining is a manufacturing process that involves removing materials from a workpiece via cutting tools in order to convert it into a shape you desire. Machine tools have slowly evolved over the past few decades. While many still retain the same basic characteristics of their 19th- and early 20th-century ancestor, we now use computerized numerical control or CNC machines which have the capacity to efficiently and precisely repeat complex sequences for production of composite parts of varying sizes and shapes for a wide range of machining projects.There are hundreds of varieties of machine tools that range in size from small, simple machines mounted on workbenches to huge, complex production machines weighing several hundred tons.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS

I use it in class as a card game. It is played by three or four students. At the beginning each student gets 5 cards. The other cards are on the table - face down. Now the students try to collect four matching cards by asking the others e. g.:" Susan, have you got the card with the ...?" As soon as a student has formed a set of four cards, he puts it on the table. Then he starts asking for another matching set. In each round of the game the students must pick up one of the cards from the stack of cards in the middle of the table. Winner is the student with the most matching sets.
