Intermediate Tourism Lesson

A useful infographic you can use for tourism students or if you are a CLIL teacher. It's based on an informative video about the new traveler. It's kind of old but it's really useful for teachers who are discussing the topic of travelling and tourism and how to be a responsible tourist.

This listening is meant for adults or teens.The students listen to the video and answer questions about it. There is also a vocabulary exercise.They also have to write about a journey in London ( or in an other town)

Listenings - London Tourisme

Practice listening by watching the short (9 minute long) VICE documentary available on Youtube. Answer nine comprehension questions - you could easily add more in order to extend the activity. Answers included. Use the video as a starting point for discussion about extreme tourism or environmental disasters.

4 possibilities to play : at the camp site, at the veg restaurant, at the bed & breakfast, at the tea room. For each, a problem to solve between two or three characters.

Role play - Tourism

After watching a video about a tour in  London, the students have to chose the right answer, answer questions , number pictures, find synonymes and write a short text about a trip.

Tourisme - Package tours

The text is on page 2. This was meant for tourism students supposed to be able to understand and give information about a place in English. They were supposed to know how to give details for reservations/bookings/etc. but also to be able to talk about an area and its highlights. I think it shows.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
