"Hot coffee" lawsuit transcription with vocabulary, he "Hot coffee" lawsuit is a famous legal case that has had a significant impact on consumer protection laws and product liability in the United States. The case revolves around a woman named Stella Liebeck, who was severely burned by a cup of hot coffee that she purchased from a McDonald's restaurant in 1992. Liebeck's injuries were so severe that she required multiple surgeries and suffered permanent scarring.The case gained widespread attention when it was revealed that the coffee that Liebeck had purchased was extremely hot, with a temperature of around 180 degrees Fahrenheit, which is much hotter than the average cup of coffee. Despite the warning on the cup that the coffee was hot, Liebeck argued that McDonald's had not done enough to warn her of the potential danger.

My family listening game

I used this special edition of CNN Student News (10 min) video as the basis for a class discussion about the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan last Friday. The worksheet contains a set of comprehension questions, the links to the video and its transcript, as well as an Answer Key. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Japanese people who are suffering from this terrible disaster.
