Travel across Europe

This is a worksheet for practising air travel vocabulary. It is a matching exercise. There are 24 cards. Cut them up and shuffle them. Give one set of cards to each pair of students. Their task is to match two cards in order to form air travel related two-word phrases and thus make 12 dominoes.

A classic game that we all know and love.

Students simply have to describe the word on the card without saying any of the words at the bottom of the card. This can be done in different ways:

Team game. Students describe to their team or partner and get one point for each correct guess their partner makes within a set time limit.

Individual game. Students work in groups but take it in turns to describe. Whoever is first to guess correctly, gets one point. The winner is the student with the most points when all cards have been used.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets
