A selection of English ESL way printables

A simple interactive activity for beginner students learning how to give directions, as well as understand directions. The first page is a map with roads, shops and restaurants, etc. On the second page I wrote some "which way?" questions pertaining to the map that students can ask each other. Students can also ask their own questions, or guess where another student is taking them. Have fun!

A worksheet with illustrations which explains the usage of words such as back to front, inside out etc. and some idioms which are often heard. Followed by an exercise using these words.

My Way.

Ss have to recognize the different buildings in a town. Then they have to give the directions or write the questions for the given answers. After that they can ask about other places. For example, you´re in front of the station. You´re hungry and want to buy some food. Ask someone where the supermarket is. etc. It´s editable. I hope you like it and find it useful! Showing the way

Vocabulary practice matching activity to review the meanings of common verbs used to refer to ways of looking. This worksheet includes only one activity. The solution is on the second page.  A possible follow up could be asking students to write sentences using those  verbs.

In this worksheet, students first have to match the words to their definitions. As a second activity, and after having corrected this, students have to classify these words taking into account the volume involved and whether the word could be considered positive or negative in connotation.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets
