The weekend is coming! - quick survey

My students are learning was and were. I decided to create an activity - they have to complete the test with one word after that, they have to answer some questions about it. Age focus is around 10 years old. 

They have completed on their own and after they have to check the answers in pairs. Finally - based on my text - they have to write theirs.

I'm sick of one word answers when I ask my students about the weekend.  So I decided to devote a class on how to talk about the weekend nicely. 

I based the worksheet on something I found in a book. 

It took a surprising amount of time. 

It seems easy, but intermediates enjoyed practicing it and updating their answers with more advanced language.

I designed for an hour class of adult intermediates, but it took 1 1/2 to finish.

Here is a small text , in which studenst have to put teh basic verbs in the past simple, regular and irregular , then say if teh statements are true or false, then you can make them talk or write about their own weekend

A Wonderful Weekend - Reading Comprehension - Past Simple

This worksheet practices changing from present simple or present continuous to past simple or past continuous. It is a great way to start a lesson or review previously learnt material. It is also useful for writing activities and is helpful for learners who are struggling to say or write what they did on the weekend.

that's a great worksheet because the students learn about the meanings of the words and also practice the listening. It can be used for all levels. the most important thing is that the students can make their own sentences.

Students read the text and complete three types of tasks: 1) choose a title, 2) choose the correct answer (10 questions), 3) agree or disagree with the statements (10 statements).

Now , some activities to learn , revise and practise the past simple. Students complete the sentences with the correct past form and then do a small writing activity to talk about their last weekend.

Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
