The classic Pass the Word game to warm up your classes. They get to compete, have fun and learn how to write descriptions. You can either use the ones provided or you can get your students to write their own.

Pass the Word

This is very useful with kids, teens and even adults. You can use this as a free drill just make sure of your time and number of students. Have them say the words to practice pronunciation. Don't forget to say "Thank you". I hope you like my job pals.

Memory Game Comparative-Superlative Adjectives

Each group of words have a one that doesn't belong to it. The one that doesn't belong is a regular verb. This game will show which students can recognize the irregular verbs.

IF  you are on a blend read and say a word started with it, if you are on a picture, prepare a sheet for each player and make him/her write the blend and say a word.

Don't Say that Word! 4: Practising definitions, synonyms and antonyms.

Student takes a card and due to the heading - Speak, Draw, Pantomime, he/she provides/describes the word. My students definitely love it! I hope you too :). The topic is summer, I used typical symbols. Have fun! Then tell me if it was usable for you ;).

Summer ACTIVITY, charades, games

One more part of the task that helps me challenge my students to ask questions. The task is to find out some information about the person. The problem is that students are not given a question form structure. They need to read, understand and make up a nice question on their own.

4)	GAME – BUY ME – SELL ME (pair work)

-	Cut out a set of Appearance Exchange Cards so everyone has 4-5 cards (it depends on the number of SS, make more cards if needed, just remember that everyone must have the same number of cards on hand)

-	Divide the class into pairs, and have them discuss in what top-5 ways would their dream

partner look like, and 5 ways a partner from hell would look like (using new words). SS also use to be and Present Simple to describe their partners.

-	SS have Appearance Exchange Cards, whether good or bad and they must try and sell them to the group (one appearance card for another one)

-	SS must think about cards, and what’s positive about it even if they are disgusting.

-	1 important rule – SS cannot keep their cards. They must sell their cards, and buy new ones. When the game begins they walk around the room and try to barter cards with everybody.

(#   -    Hello. I have something interesting for you. Look, your girl has wrinkles.

-	Hi. No, I don’t want a girl with wrinkles. She is old. I want to have a young large-breasted girl.

-	Oh, you don’t understand. All kind and funny girls have wrinkles.

-	Really? Ok then.)

-	After all the cards have been sold, put students into pairs again and have them think as if they were in a relationship with that person they’ve just bought (all these appearance cards make a person altogether). In pairs SS describe their just bought partners to each other).

Another fun wordsearch about animals. I´ve tried to add as many as I can think of for a good level of vocabulary. You can do the activity in pair on on their own.

A fun alphabet inspired board game. Can be used for vocabulary building, spelling, or just for fun. Good for low level English speakers to higher levels. Students really enjoy it and, as it is almost impossible to reach the finish, I always offer a reward to anyone who does. Njoi!!



*To play you will need a dice and a position marker for each player.  Suggestions for playing: dog icon - 10 jumping jacks, snack attack icon - player must bring a snack for classmates next class, circular icon with arrows - player MUST switch positions with another player, and the other icons are self-explanatory.

The Alphabet Race Board Game

A word search puzzle that contains 20 irregular verbs to be found in their past simple form.

This worksheet helps students to remember the correct spelling of past simple of given irregular verbs.

It also contains a key answer with colours!

Wordsearch Puzzle - Irregular Verbs in Past Form

The worksheet is devoted to the movie "The Hunger Games". Give a task to students to watch the film at home and work on the worksheet. In class - work together and talk about the movie. The first task discusses some peculiar words in the film. In the second ex. the students have to find definitions to the phrases and explain them. Then there are some nice expressions with the examples of the usage - students have to try to understand the word / phrase in the context. Then - words-definitions matching.
