Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>

Question words 

Transition words make our writing more coherent and cohesive. These transition words have been given in a worksheet to choose from to complete the sentences. The teachers are advised to give a little practice before actually giving away the worksheet. 

Transition Words

There are several exercises to practice some linking words: although, so, as, but, because, and, when, however.

The students have to fill the blanks with the suitable linking word. In an other exercise, they have to put  sentences together with a linking word.

Linking words

This is a grammar worksheet I've given to my students to practice contrast clauses. Students are going to rephrase some given sentences. There is no solution. Hope it's useful.
