Board Game - Quiz Time (Pre-intermediate)

This funny rhyme can be used to help young learners memorize days of the week faster and easier as the names of each day has their rhyming words that sound alike. It can be also sung as a song to your own tune. I sing it to the guitar with my pupils.

Rules:

Time's Up! is a charades-based party game for teams of two or more players 



In each round, team members take turns trying to get their teammates to guess as many names as possible in 30 seconds. 

In round 1, almost any kind of clue is allowed, and the cluegiver cannot pass on a card. 

In round 2, no more than one word can be used in each clue (but unlimited sounds and gestures are permitted); the cluegiver can pass on any card he likes, and the teammates can give only a single answer. 

In round 3, the cluegiver can use no words at all and can pass as often as he likes; again, teammates are allowed only a single guess. 

Time's up

An engaging worksheet to accompany the long awaited new song from Ed Sheeran. Encourage you students to try and predict which of the emboldened pair of words they will hear (using contextual clues, context, rhyming sounds etc.). Then on listening to the actual song (available free on YouTube) firstly have them check to see if they were correct and then circle the correct word. You may wish to pre / post - teach contextual vocabulary. Enjoy
