This is a lesson on the passive voice designed for high schoolers learning English as a second language (B1/B2). 

It belongs to a unit on gun control in the US, hence the gun-based lexis.

This is a lesson that I made the students work on in groups so that they could discuss and agree on  how to structure it. 

The passive voice - Lesson

Match the action verbs to its most representative illustration. For EFL students who are learning vocabulary about the different actions. It is simple, intended for first graders whom have never had any contact with the English language.

Actions 

This worksheet is a set of questions that require the students to search for information preferably from the Web in order to train them skills in locating sources of information finding the right information properly. This is consistent with the need to integrate information and media literacy into teaching and learning. This is also available in ESL Printables. This worksheet was created by Sirhajwan Idek.

Movie Quest

Instructions - "Draw and colour your football ID card. Follow the example." Students love doing this because they are always into a football club and like showing it off.

A challenging board game that demands pupils to remember a wide range of words.

Instructions:

At least 2 players are needed, a coin and two pawns. 

One player has to toss a coin and say the word. If the answer given is correct, the player will move one space ahead. If he/she doesn't know the answer, he/she won't move or will move one space behind.

This is a simple worksheet about animals for matching their names. It is for beginners and young learners. For elementary level. If is for six copies for each student. Enjoy.

Animal Test 

This worksheet is to work with the simple past of some regular and irregular verbs. The activity is developed through a song of the musical group puddle of mudd. Students have to complete the song with the past of the verbs. It is divided in different steps: write the past, complete the song, order a part of the lyrics and finally, ask some questions to a classmate. There isn't a solution, because the song is pretty clear and easy to complete. You have to explain the students what's the activity about, the stepts and finally check with them the corrects answer. At the end, they have to report about their classmates answers or talk about what they remember about the questions they are going to ask to a classmate.

I use the same colours like the previous poster so that the sound comes with the colour in their mind.

Vowels in Cluster

Students work in two groups to make questions (handouts A and B). Next, they move around to ask the questions and write the name of the person who answers “yes” (with appropriate form: Yes, I do; Yes, I have; or with a sentence). When they finish asking questions, they prepare sentences to tell the class what they found out about their classmates. Students may also write the final sentences in their notebooks. Have fun!

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
