Hi I am Danish. A little correction: We do not throw dishes at New year. We meet with friends and family in the streets at midnight sending fire works in the air. Many jump into the new year from a chair. Really many gets too much to drink. In some parts of the country people move their friends outdoor things around to tease. Most people have champagne and a special cake formed like a watch at midnight while they see the clock turning to 12 from the town square in Copenhagen on tv. Shortly after a choit sing a new year song - "Welcome the year of the Lord" We do a lot of things but do not throw dishes!! Rikke
