American Festivals

This is a ppt to practice a lot of things. First of all, you can practice there is/there are, the prepositions of place, the places in a house, furniture and Christmas vocabulary. 

You can see a particular room with some Christmas-related object/person/animal in it on every slide. Aks the students to create sentences about the pictures:

There is a Christmas tree in the living room. He is in front of the table. There are two elves in the kitchen. etc...

This material requires you to pre-teach some vocabulary (Christmas, furniture, rooms).

Santa Claus and the house

This is a game I prepared to use after I finish teaching "There is / There are" in the classroom with PPTs and worksheets. This game will test the pupils' memories, will get the pupils' attention to the board and the topic and encourage to write sentences with the structure they learnt. The objective of the activity is to review basic grammar and prepare for English tests. It is for elementary and pre-intermediate level. Students can play in pair, groups or individual if suitable for the class size. Students normally don't enjoy tests but when taking them as a game, they couldn't get enough of it. My student for instance asked for more questions and couldn't stop playing.
