The Verb To Be (rules, drilling, practice)

A ppt to study and practise the verb 'to be' as a linking verb. First, students look at situations when we use this verb. After this, the positive, negative and interrogative forms are explained separately. In the beginning, there's a rule for using the right form for different sentence subject. Then, there are practice exercises to drill the forms. The last part is for students to make true sentences using the forms of the verb 'to be'.

The present printable, downloadable handout is meant for at Beginner (pre-A1) and Elementary (A1) level. It is aimed at teaching BE (auxiliary verb) and Linking verbs (aka copulas, e.g. I am a student) in English, and can be used for developing your pupils' Speaking skills.
