Future Simple - Predictions

This worksheet will help your students understand the use of the future simple tense. All you have to do is divide your class into two groups. They ask questions (Group A), and answer them (Group B).

THE SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE - game

This is a fun game for the whole class to do. After trying it once, the teacher can take time to see how fast the students can do it. It is a great way to motivate the students to compete with themselves as a class to do it faster. This practises the listening- and pronunciation skills.



The cards need to be cut out, and maybe some students will have two cards. The student who has the card with a star on it begins.

The objective of this ESL printable worksheet is to learn how and when to use the BE GOING TO + infinitive' construction for predictions when you have some signs or clues about what is going to happen. It's a grammar worksheet. Students have to make sentences based on the visual and vocabulary prompts but they can also 'play' with them. Eg: Is Brian going to watch a film? No, Brian isn'r going to watch a film, he is going to learn to drive.

BE GOING TO + Infinitive For Future Predictions

There are two short texts describing two friend's plans for the weekend using the future with going to. There is also a brief writing exercise, in which students have to write their plans for the weekend.

You can cut the images and the descriptions, then each student pick one description card, and the other picks the other (can be done in groups of 2).



When a ss picks a card, the image represents its future, then the ss with the description card reads the fortune and tell his future using the simple future or "going to". They can pick as many card as the teacher feels it's apropriate.

Easy reading with future tenses and present perfect. Students have to read a short passage, do a true/false exercise and answer the questions in full sentences.
